Summary
Inside the app, LRplay uses a single cookie, strictly necessary to keep you logged in, plus an optional one that remembers your language if you pick it. Only on LRplay's public pages (the home page and the service presentation page) do we also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies only if you accept them in the banner shown there. Cloudflare Web Analytics visit statistics, Microsoft Clarity usage recordings (also only on LRplay's public pages) and Cloudflare Turnstile bot verification work without cookies. Once you're logged in, neither Google Analytics nor Microsoft Clarity is used.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. “Similar technologies”
includes the browser's local storage (localStorage) and the
service worker cache, which serve a similar purpose of storing data on your
device.
2. Exactly what we use
2.1. Session cookie (strictly necessary)
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
lrp_sess |
Keep you securely logged in. Without it you couldn't use the app after logging in. | Up to 30 days, or until you log out | First-party, httpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax |
gcal_oauth_state |
Only if you connect Google Calendar (Pro plan): protects that step against forged requests. It's deleted when the connection finishes. | 5 minutes at most | First-party, httpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax |
lrp_lang |
Only if you pick a language with the ES | EN button: remembers that choice (Spanish or English). Without it, the language is chosen based on the country you connect from. | 1 year | First-party, Secure, SameSite=Lax |
All three are first-party. The session cookie is cryptographically signed and contains no tracking data: only your email, the session's issue and expiry dates, and the version of the Terms you accepted.
2.2. Local storage and cache (functional, on your device)
The app may store data in your own browser, which is never sent to a third party:
- Interface preferences (for example, the last tab or section
you opened) via
localStorage. - Offline listening cache: if you turn on downloading a project, the service worker stores the covers and audio in the browser cache so they can play without internet. It's removed when you turn the option off or clear the site's data.
- Push notification subscription: if you turn them on, the browser stores the keys needed to receive them. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
3. Third-party cookies: only on public pages
Only on LRplay's public pages (the home page and the service presentation page), and only if you accept, Google Analytics (Google LLC, USA) sets these cookies to count visits in aggregate:
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Distinguish visitors to count visits to the public pages. | 2 years | Third-party (Google Analytics), analytics, optional |
_ga_KJLTGXNY4Q |
Keep the state of the current visit. | 2 years | Third-party (Google Analytics), analytics, optional |
If you decline, Google Analytics isn't loaded and none of these cookies are set.
Your choice is stored in your browser (in localStorage, not a cookie) so we
don't ask again. Inside the app, once you're logged in, Google Analytics isn't used, nor
in the iOS and Mac apps.
Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation, USA) records how LRplay's public pages are browsed (clicks and scrolling, with everything you type masked) and is configured without cookies. It isn't used inside the app or in the iOS and Mac apps either.
There are no social media pixels, ads, embedded maps or third-party videos. Signing in with Google happens on Google's site; any cookies Google may use during that step are governed by Google's policy, not this one.
4. Consent
The session cookie doesn't require consent: it's strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for, as permitted by the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive (European Union) and the criteria of Argentina's AAIP. The language cookie is only set when you ask for it by pressing the button. Google Analytics cookies, on the other hand, are optional: that's why on LRplay's public pages we ask first, with an accept button and a decline button, equally visible. Without your answer, they aren't loaded.
5. How to manage or delete this data
- Change your choice about Google Analytics: on LRplay's public pages, tap “Cookie preferences” at the bottom. If you withdraw permission, we delete its cookies from your browser.
- Logging out of the app deletes the session cookie.
- You can delete cookies,
localStorageand cache from your browser's settings (“Clear browsing data” / “Site data”). If you delete the session cookie, you'll be asked to log in again. - Blocking all cookies will stop the app from working after you log in.
- Push notifications and offline download are turned off from Settings inside the app.
6. Changes
If our use of cookies changes, we'll update this page and its date. Substantial changes will be announced inside the app.
